D.O.Y.K.A.L.P. - Municipal Organization for Health and Social Perception

The policy of the Municipality of Loutraki – Perachora is anthropocentric. To this direction and having as ruling objective the individual and public health, as well as the quality of life, the Municipal Organization for Health and Social Perception (D.O.Y.K.A.L.P.) was established in 1997.

The aims of D.O.Y.K.A.L.P. are described in the following sectors:

- Sector of Health. For subjects that have to do with:

• Rendering of services for the individual or more general health of the citizens and residents of our Municipality.
• Rendering of services and contribution in the confrontation of problems of people with disabilities.
• Initiatives for the information, especially of young people, of the dangers from the use of psychotropic substances or other damaging habits.
• Creation of advisory stations for matters of health, maternity and family, as well as for matters of mental hygiene.

The main objective of the sector of Health is the free rendering of first degree services of health for all citizens. To serve this purpose, in the Surgeries of the Organization, there are:

• Doctors - Cardiologists
• Doctors – General practitioners
• Nursing personnel

At the disposal of this sector, there is also an Ambulance, which has responded until today to hundreds of “calls of life”.

Apart from the previous scientific personnel, in the Organization there are also:

• a Social Worker
• a Sociologist and
• a Psychologist
  

- Sector of Welfare and Social Matters. For subjects that have to do with:

• Cultivation and spread of altruism.
• Systematic recording of individuals and social groups of the Municipality that need help.
• Concern for the confrontation of problems of large families.
• Creation of meeting places for the elderly people (Municipal Clubs of Friendship) and provision of organized recreation.

The interest of the Municipality for the elderly people, the large families, the persons with disabilities, as well as those who need help, is expressed through this sector and more specifically through the “Municipal Club of Friendship” that it created. A Club that members today about 2.000 members.
